Where did the time go?
Can you believe the first month of 2010 is halfway over? Someone said the other day that they’re just getting over the holidays and it already feels like they have to start preparing for next Christmas. Perhaps it’s just that same old feeling – that time moves faster as we get older – but maybe it’s something else.
Is anyone else feeling a greater sense of urgency? Between the ongoing economic crisis that continues to cripple families and businesses, the threat of climate change ever looming in the not-too-distant future, and now the daily headlines describing unimaginable conditions in Haiti, it seems like time is running short.
It’s probably just the lingering effect of turning another year older, but when I compare the challenges in my life (my family and my business) to the big issues that affect the world in which we live; my problems don’t seem so significant.
As I’ve stated before, I’m a big fan of perspective and how it changes over time. Over the last week I often found myself referring to our first 100 days of being in business. Now that Milestone Marketing Associates is halfway through our fourth month I am pleased to report more progress:
• Two new clients are moving forward this week
• Existing leads are transitioning to the proposal stage
• New leads are responding to various marketing efforts
It’s nice to pause for a moment and look back at all the effort that preceded these results. I really do love it when a plan comes together. No longer must I peer into the uncertain future of this venture. Now I am able to reflect. Not just on the last 100 days, but all the years that led me to this point in time when I have come to realize the true meaning of the pursuit of happiness.
Follow your heart. Do what you love. Chase your dreams. You’re the only one who can make them come true.
Until next week,
Matthew Anderson, President
Milestone Marketing Associates, Inc.
