Exciting times ahead
The holidays are in full swing! I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving with their families. We certainly did. My wife and I hosted dinner at our house again this year, and the highlight of the day was spending time with my 85-year-old grandmother. Given her health she’s not likely to make another Thanksgiving so this one was particularly special for us all.
One month to go and 2010 will be in the rearview mirror. Between current projects, holiday parties, and chasing down new leads, this year will be wrapped up in the blink of any eye. Is your business ready for 2011?
A week and a half ago we rolled out our annual business plan during our quarterly planning meeting. It’s a work in progress, but next year is going to look similar to this year plus grow, grow, grow!
Of course one of the biggest challenges we face now is when to pull the trigger on our first fulltime employee. We’re quickly approaching a point when we’ll have more work than I can effectively manage myself and still have time to drum up new business.
The good news is that we have talented freelance associates who not only bring their creative expertise to the table, but each is also a capable project manager. Invariably our first hire will boil down to timing; the company’s workload, our associate’s priorities, and the right project…
Until next week,
Matthew Anderson, President
