Greetings from New Jersey

Posted by: on Sunday, December 26, 2010

On Saturday morning we celebrated Christmas in New Jersey with Aunt Linnie and Uncle Bey followed by more fun with Bey’s family. On Sunday morning we got up early and drove to Manhattan for a private Nutcracker tour of FAO Swartz. Afterwards we walked to Rockefeller Center to see the big tree, but it was cold and windy in the city so we didn’t stay long.

We stopped at a diner on the way back to New Jersey. That’s when it started snowing. By the time we got back to the house, it started accumulating. It’s Sunday afternoon now as I’m writing this week’s update, and the forecast is calling for a foot of snow with blizzard conditions.

By tomorrow we’ll be stuck in a winter wonderland, which might sound nice, but we’re supposed to go back into the city for Bey’s graduation ceremony at Madison Square Garden. Hopefully that comes together as planned. Seeing him graduate from the NYPD Academy was the main reason for this trip.

We’re also hoping to fly to Florida on Tuesday as scheduled. The forecast is clear, but who knows what condition the airport will be in after the storm. Of course there’s nothing we can do about it now, but it sure would be nice to make it home in time for our Second Annual New Year’s Eve Party.

Until next week,
