Hit the ground running

Today is a big day at Milestone Marketing Associates! Lee Gaines begins his full-time position as Milestone’s Interactive Media Director with half-a-dozen web projects in the works. Lee will hit the ground running, and with another half-dozen website proposals in the pipeline, there’s no sign of slowing down in our immediate future.

But before we get too caught up in all the excitement that the future holds for Milestone, let’s take a moment to reflect on two big events that wrapped up last week:

First, the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance 2011 Golf Tournament was a smashing success. All our hard work and planning paid off last Friday with a record number of golfers playing in the tournament. Not only that we think we beat our fundraising goal by at least thirty percent!

Thanks again to all the volunteers who made it happen. Thanks again to all the sponsors for supporting the Alliance. And thanks again to everyone who came out for what turned out to be a beautiful day at the Ritz.

Second, Barcamp Sarasota’s 2011 Spring Event at GWiz came together with tremendous results. Attendance was up over the last un-conference, and the excitement level amongst the participants was off the charts.

Always an eclectic mix of techies, start-ups, and innovators, this gathering proved once again that collaboration is the best way to a brighter technology economy in Southwest Florida. Congratulations to Sara Hand and her fellow Barcamp Sarasota founders for leading the charge!
