Living the dream

Posted by: on Sunday, May 15, 2011

Tube Dude is a cool new website client. You’ve probably seen the brightly colored life-size metal stick figures around town. From residential mailboxes to permanent sign-holders for businesses, Tube Dudes seem to be taking over the local landscape.

The story behind the Tube Dude is even more interesting. And the way the company founder, Scott Gerber, tells it is both amazing and entertaining. No one is more surprised by the popularity of the Tube Dude than Mr. Gerber.

With plans to take Tube Dude national and a nearly endless list of ideas for custom metal powder coated products, Scott is having a blast with his new business and we’re thrilled to be part of the excitement.

We have another cool project in the works. Fast n Fresh is a local restaurant that originally hired Milestone to update their ads, redesign their menus, and build a new website. After starting the project the clients, Lesley and Mike Harb, decided that they really wanted a new logo for their growing business.

Now we’re into a full-blown rebranding effort which includes a new company identity, business cards, and letterhead. Then of course we’ll apply the new design to their advertising campaign, in-house menus, catering menus, and last but not least, a new website.

The Harbs are a pleasure to work with and this has turned in to fun project indeed. Not to mention that their food is phenomenal. And fast. And fresh.

The business is growing. Our largest client, SouthTech Solutions, is still keeping the whole team busy with a wide variety of projects including a website, a video, a direct mail campaign, an email/webinar project, and ongoing PR efforts.

As we continue to add fun and interesting clients to the mix it’s starting to feel like we’re living the dream and becoming a real advertising agency. It’s a wonderful sense of accomplishment knowing that our hard work is starting to pay off.

Event plugs of the week:

There’s still time to register for Tuesday’s STF Techbyte Luncheon featuring Sunita Lodwig from USF Sarasota-Manatee who will be talking about a brand new series IT classes starting next semester. If you or someone on your team needs continuing education, this is a presentation you shouldn’t miss.

AAF Suncoast is hosting a networking social on Tuesday night at the Mad Crow Brewery called Two Creatives and a Six Pack. Come on out and see what’s new with the local chapter of the American Advertising Federation.

If you still haven’t been to a BarCamp Sarasota event, consider attending this week’s lunch and learn featuring Robrady’s Dickie Herbst presenting “Build a Product? Build a Brand!” There’s no charge for the event – just buy your lunch and enjoy the program.

Until next week,

Matthew Anderson, President
Milestone Marketing Associates, Inc.
