Falling Back
I sure do like “falling back.” I woke up an hour early this morning without the help of my alarm, got the kids off to school ahead of schedule, and was at my desk working by 8:15am. Of course I didn’t write my weekly update on Sunday so I’m still behind schedule, but at least I’m well-rested as we have a couple of busy weeks coming up.
First up this week the Suncoast Technology Forum will have its quarterly educational event on Tuesday morning from 8-9:30am at the Stoneybrook Golf Club. Unlike the monthly STF luncheons, quarterly educational events typically offer a deeper dive into a subject with multiple speakers.
Continuing our theme of regional collaboration and technology-related economic initiatives, we’ll hear from Randy Berridge form the Florida High Tech Corridor and Anand Pallegar from the Tampa Bay Technology Forum. There’s still time to register so sign up now.
I’m looking forward to the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance membership luncheon on Wednesday featuring Rex Jensen of Schroeder-Manatee Ranch and Tim Mulqueen from The Premier Sports Campus.
Mr. Jensen always has something to say about development and is never afraid to let you know how he feels about the subject. Did anyone see the article in the paper about his email to Dan Lobeck? Hillarious!
On Wednesday night I’ll be at the Gulf Coast Venture Forum event at the Sarasota Hyatt. Sara Hand, who is the new president of this organization that attempts to match budding entrepreneurs with angel investors, will also be speaking at our STF Technbyte Luncheon on November 15.
Last but not least I wanted to let you know about the next AAF Suncoast Business Workshop on November 17 featuring Brian Volner from Community Bank. If you missed any of Brian’s presentations at Keiser College through the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance this is your chance to hear what he has to say. Always informative and thoroughly entertaining, this is one seminar that you truly don’t want to miss.
Until next week,
Matthew Anderson, President
