Smell the turkey

I was worried that we wouldn’t have enough work going into the holiday season, but we just keep getting busier. We have three website projects in the works right now and nine more in the pipeline. We’re designing a brand for a new business and updating a logo for an existing business. We’re about to wrap up one video project, and we’re starting another. At this rate we’ll be lucky to stop and smell the turkey.

I attended GCVF’s monthly event last week at the Hyatt to get a preview of what Sara has to say about the organization. I have to say I was impressed by the number and caliber of startups at the event, who, like the rest of us, settled into our fair little town for quality of life reasons.

Those business owners sounded like they’re are ready to grow and the Gulf Coast Venture Forum can put them in front of the angel investors to make it happen. Learn more about how GCVF us funding startups in Sarasota.

Finding Members

Rather than exhibit at this year’s Tri-Chamber Business After Hours event at the Sarasota Bradenton International Convention Center, I decided to help staff the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance booth and help them drum up some new members.

Of course I’ll use the opportunity to talk about membership in all the other associations I belong to and I’ll do it wearing my Milestone shirt. And when my shift is over, I’ll be sure to say hello to all the other exhibitors. We’ll see whether or not this proves to be just as effective as having our own booth…
