Spring Ahead

Posted by: on Monday, March 11, 2013

It’s just an hour. Why does daylight savings time screw up my schedule so much? Is it all in my head, or can a one-hour shift on the clock really affect my daily routine? If only we, as adults, were given a week off every year to eschew our responsibilities and go to the beach. Perhaps then I could ‘spring ahead’ without feeling like I lost an hour of my life.

OK, enough whining. Back to work. Despite the kids being out of school this week, I have a busy work schedule. Fortunately Dana is taking most of the week off to hang out with the kids and her twin sister who is visiting from New Jersey.

I’m glad she can take time off this week because she really deserves it. On top of motherhood and her full-time job, Dana volunteered this year to be the “cookie mom” for our daughter’s Girl Scout troop.

For those of you who don’t know what that means, she’s had to coordinate and supervise an entire sales force of parents and kids as well as manage a warehouse of cookies (in our dining room). Fortunately it’s almost over now, but she’s already talking about helping again next year.

Clearly she’s another glutton for punishment. My mother always said, “If you need something done, give it to a busy person.”

In business association news, we have a few things going on this week including; AAF and STF board meetings, a Suncoast Technology Forum breakfast seminar on Tuesday featuring Guy Hagen talking about a Regional IT Workforce Initiative, and a Prime Time networking event at New College on Wednesday night with the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce.

Until next week,

Matthew Anderson, President
Milestone Marketing Associates, Inc.
