Marketing Workshop

Posted by: on Monday, May 6, 2013

Invitations are always nice. Being invited back is even better. This week I am speaking at a marketing workshop sponsored by The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance, and the Florida Public Relations Association.

Scheduled from 8:00am to 1:30pm on Wednesday, May 8 at the Polo Grill in Lakewood Ranch, the event includes eight workshops followed by a networking luncheon and keynote presentation from Linda Larsen:

Staying Right Side Up When Everything Is Upside Down: Achieving Excellence in Challenging Times

My presentation will be more humble. It is called “Making the Most of Your Marketing Budget.” In my experience over the last few years, most small business owners don’t even have a marketing budget so preparing for my workshop was pretty easy since they'll only last about five minutes.

Last year, when I spoke about making the most of public relations, I had three groups of about a dozen people in a roundtable format. It was nice because everyone had an opportunity to share their experience and ask questions. Effectively I acted as the moderator for each group and made sure our conversation stayed on subject.

It was fun, and I’m looking forward to this week’s workshop. I’m also looking forward to the 23rd Annual Small Business Awards on Friday, May 10 from 11:30am to 1:30pm at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota.

I know several of the finalists and wish them all good luck. Of course I’ll be rooting for SouthTech, our longtime client who is in the running for Small Business of the Year for the second year in a row.

Until next week,

Matthew Anderson, President
Milestone Marketing Associates, Inc.
