AdFed Suncoast

It is with great pleasure that I announce the launch of the new website for the American Advertising Federation-Suncoast. Check it out at www.adfedsuncoast.com.

Like all websites, this project was a collaborative effort. I would like to thank all of our dedicated content contributors who serve on the board of directors and the organization’s many committees. Under the exceptional leadership of Vivian Owen, the year’s board has accomplished a tremendous amount of work in the last two months.

If you’re business is associated with the advertising industry, either on the creative side, the production side, or the media side, then you should join the American Advertising Federation. It’s a great way to learn about the latest trends in our business, meet other creative professionals in our community, and protect the tax exemptions that help businesses thrive.

Even if you’re not directly involved with advertising, you may want to attend our new AdBites Luncheon on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 11:30am to 1:00pm in The Green Room at the Florida Studio Theatre.

Emerging Media features speakers from Tampa, Orlando, and Sarasota who will share how businesses of all types and sizes can use social media management tools, mobile web, responsive design, and augmented realty. Seating is limited to 45 people so register online now.

On a related note, AdFed Suncoast lost one of our members last week. Don Adamec was the quintessential essence of ‘Mad Men’ in Sarasota.

I met Don three years ago when I sat next to him at our annual installation dinner. He was a member of the ‘old guard’ having served as club president many years ago. I was eager to learn as much as I could from him about the organization, but I think Don was just happy to have someone new to share his stories with – wild tales from his years working on Madison Avenue.

I believe Don was 76 years old, and from what I was told he was working up to the day he died. Farewell my friend.

Until next week,

Matthew Anderson, President
Milestone Marketing Associates, Inc.
