Cinco de Mayo
Welcome to taco night at the Andersons! Does anybody remember that Taco Bell ad with Ricardo Montalban? Well, I certainly do for the obvious reason, and every time we have tacos, I’m reminded of that TV commercial. Today is Cinco de Mayo, it’s my week to cook, and we’re having steak tacos for dinner tonight. Margaritas anyone?
I have to admit I’m looking forward to attending the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance Sponsor Showcase on Wednesday, May 7 from 5pm to 7pm at the Polo Grill. This will be my first LWRBA event of the year since we dropped that membership in January.
We have two clients who will be exhibiting, and there should be dozens of acquaintances I haven’t seen in months so it will be nice to catch up with everyone. Unlike many of the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance events the Annual Showcase is free an open to the public, so if you were curious about the Alliance this would be a good time to come out and say hello.
THREEPEAT???
This Friday, May 9 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm the Mighty Siesta Key Kiwanis Club is hosting our annual end-of-school party for our service leadership programs. Our club sponsors the Pine View Key Club, the Pine View Builders Club, the Sarasota Middle School Builders Club, and we are in the process of adding the Riverview High School Key Club.
Each year we sponsor a cookout for these amazing kids, and for fun, we hold a Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament. This year marks the fourth annual competition, and everyone wants to see if my daughter, Catherine Anderson, can THREEPEAT after winning the last two years.
Normally we hold the event at the Pavilion on Siesta Key Beach, but due to the construction we had to relocate our party to Twin Lakes Park. This event is a lot of fun and the tournament is really quite entertaining so if you would like to join us please let me know.
Until next week,
Matthew Anderson, President
