Open Door Baltimore
We kicked off a website project for an interesting client last week. Of course all clients are interesting, but this one is unique because they are not located in Sarasota. Open Door Baltimore is a nonprofit that helps disenfranchised minorities get good jobs. While that’s interesting all by itself, the remarkable part is how Bill Simpson, their CEO, found Milestone Marketing Associates.
Like many of our new clients, Open Door Baltimore was referred to Milestone. Usually those referrals come from existing clients, but in this case the referral came from Cynthia Flanagan, the Associate Director of Career Services at Ringling College of Art and Design.
I met Cynthia a couple years ago through AdFed Suncoast. Since then she’s become an avid reader of these weekly updates. Now here’s where it gets really interesting. Cyndi and Bill are old friends from high school back in Baltimore who reconnected via Facebook.
When they decided to get engaged Bill relocated to Sarasota, but he still works for the Baltimore-based nonprofit. When he and the board of directors decided to overhaul the organization’s website he asked Cyndi to recommend a local company that could help.
Bill and I hit it off right away. We submitted a proposal, the board of directors accepted, and now we’re off and running. Thank you, Cyndi, for recommending Milestone! I guess you just never know where your next client will come from…
Until next week,
Matthew Anderson, President
Milestone Marketing Associates, Inc.
