Pelican Cove Sales Website
We recently started working on an interested website. This project is interesting for two reasons; first because of the narrow focus of the website’s purpose, and second because of some pretty cool content.
Joe Cleary from The Cleary Group, a local real estate team, is an old friend of mine from the Siesta Key Kiwanis Club. Joe likes to sell real estate in Pelican Cove, a local condominium complex. So much so they had a website dedicated to promoting their listings in that community.
The old website went by the wayside several years ago, but since the local real estate market has rebounded from the Great Recession Joe contacted Milestone to rebuild their online sales tool.
Isn’t that an interesting concept? A website dedicated to selling one product. Not a company website. Not a microsite. A complete website designed to support the sales of a single product line. Could you apply that strategy to your business?
Now for the cool content! When we met with Joe to review the copy and photos from the old website, and an old video he wants us to edit for the new website, it was clear we would need better photography to showcase the property. Joe took it upon himself to visit the community and take some new pictures. And those look good, but they’re not as cool as what came next.
One of Joe’s competitors recently acquired some aerial video footage for their website so Joe asked if we could provide something similar for the Pelican Cove website. We happened to know someone who could help – our friend, Jared Serfozo, who started a business called Sarasota Drone.
Jared shot 15 minutes of high definition aerial footage, provided an edited 2-minute video with titles and music, and 11 high quality still images for one reasonable price. I’ve seen the final product, and it’s pretty awesome.
I’m not going to share the Pelican Cove drone video with you today because the website project isn’t finished yet. But Joe did approve the new website design so here’s a sneak preview of what’s coming:

Did you notice the old-school side navigation? Lee has been waiting for the right project to bring back that fashion. Of course Lee updated the style with modern icons for each link! To the right you see a standard slide show that will feature photos from the Pelican Cove community, including a link to the drone video.
Until next week,
