IT Roadmap
It appears we’re in for a treat this week. This month’s STF Techbyte Luncheon speaker is the Director of Technology at 4cube, a new IT services business located in Bradenton. John Sing is an IT strategist with more than 30 years of experience at IBM and over 40 speaking engagements at international conferences. In his presentation John asks, “Will Your 2015 IT Roadmap Drive Business Success?”
Now that we’re knee-deep into the fourth quarter many businesses have started planning for next year. We are at Milestone, and as you might expect from a digital marketing company, most of our planning focuses on the marketing and communications that will drive our sales.
I suspect most business owners, if they do annual planning, focus on the fundamentals of their business – sales, production, and finance. However, with technology infrastructure systems supporting most companies today, I wonder how businesses owners view information technology. Is it a necessary evil or the key to success?
I’m a people person. And I’d bet most business owners would say their employees drive their success. But how do you separate your people from their technology tools? Whether it’s the phone and computer on their desk, or the phone and computer in their pocket, businesses can no longer function without technology.
It’s the ultimate revenge of the nerds. Businesses simply can’t operate without them. So take an hour-and-a-half out of your busy schedule and have lunch with some nerds on Tuesday, October 21 at the Polo Grill in Lakewood Ranch. You can register online here. And don’t worry about the traffic around the UTC Mall. I’ve been there. It’s just a mall.
Until next week,
Matthew Anderson, President
