Sprang Forward

Posted by: on Sunday, March 8, 2015

Now that we sprang forward on Sunday are you feeling bright-eyed and bushy-tailed? Or do you feel bleary-eyed with your tail between your legs? Setting the clocks ahead usually makes me feel robbed of a precious hour of sleep. But for some strange reason I feel well rested this year. I’m not sure why. Stranger still, I remember having a difficult time falling asleep Saturday night, tossing and turning for hours with business thoughts running through my head.

Actually, I know why I had a hard time falling asleep Saturday night. It’s because I took a nap that afternoon. And I know why my mind was preoccupied with Milestone. It’s because our destination is undefined.

For the past five-and-a-half years we have worked hard building this company with our most admirable achievement being we’re still in business. While survival is a crucial to any endeavor, we find meaning in the journey (and the ability to measure our progress) only when we know where we’re going.

Milestone turned five years old in October, and for the last five months we’ve been contemplating our next five years. What business are we in? Who are our best clients? What are we really good at? What did we learn from the last five years, and where do we want to be in 2020?

We have answers to these questions, but more planning is needed as we contemplate our future. At this point in the process we’re meeting with our best clients to solicit candid feedback. What value do we bring to your business? When have we fallen short of expectations? Why do you recommend Milestone to others?

You’re invited to share your feedback. Feel free to comment, good and bad, on this blog post, and we welcome any opportunity to meet with you in person to learn what Milestone means to your business. Help us chart our course for the next five years. We have to decide where we want to end up, but you can help us get there.

Until next week,

Matthew Anderson, President
Milestone Marketing Associates, Inc.

Do a better job of educating your client base and the rest of the world of the services you offer. What problems of ours can Milestone solve?
Even the most progressive of us ain't as smart as you think when it comes to IT.
