Milestone Haikus

Posted by: on Sunday, April 12, 2015

Now that I’m attending a weekly BNI meeting, I’ve decided I need a catchy phrase. For those of you who are wondering what I’m talking about, many of my fellow BNI Trusted Professionals have a habit of beginning or ending their “30 Second Sales Manager Moment” with a memorable phrase. Sometimes they rhyme. Sometimes they don’t. Sometimes they’re clever. They’re always catchy.

I’ve always liked the simplicity of haikus. You may recall from school that a haiku requires a specific structure. The first line only has five syllables. The second line has seven syllables. And the third line has five again.

So far I’ve written several Milestone haikus. Last week a shared a few at BNI to gauge the reaction. I flubbed the first one (#1) so it fell kind of flat. The second one (#2) received a nice "ah ha" of approval. And the third one (#9) got a good chuckle. My plan is to keep writing haikus until I find one that does a great job of summarizing what we do and is well received by the group.

And since I’m test-marketing these haikus, I thought you might like to weigh in with your opinion. Please share your feedback and feel free to offer suggestions. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far:
