Favorite Part

Posted by: on Sunday, January 3, 2016

What was your favorite part of the holiday season? Taking some time off from work? Spending that time with your family? Eating more than you should? Seeing the new Star Wars movie? Now that the holidays are behind us, it’s time to focus on 2016.

My favorite part was spending time with my kids. Business is usually slow during the last two weeks of the year, and since I work at home and the kids were off from school, we were able to sleep in, goof off, eat, shop, wrap, and see Star Wars. But the kids are back in school on Monday, and I’m looking forward to getting back to work.

Here’s what we have planned for Milestone this year. As we mentioned in last week’s update, we are focusing on our current clients in the first quarter. With any luck we will get in touch with everyone via phone in the next few weeks and schedule lunch meetings between now and the end of March.

That should result in several new projects to go along with everything we have in the works right now. Likewise we expect to receive several new referrals to go with the leads we have in the pipeline so if all goes well we should close enough new business between now and the end of the first quarter to keep us busy through spring and summer.

If time permits we might also kick off a new campaign targeting local nonprofit organizations. Milestone has worked with several nonprofits over the years, and the software we use to build websites is ideally suited for membership-based organizations, so we believe there are dozens of potential clients at the high end of the market.

Beyond that we’re on the lookout for well-established local businesses that outgrew the do-it-yourself approach to marketing. While the type of business varies greatly, our ideal clients have between one and ten million dollars in annual sales. The common denominator they all have is growing pain.

Whether the business is introducing a new product, expanding into a new market, or acquiring a competitor, the owner needs help and is ready to hire a marketing professional. If you know someone in that situation, please let us know or tell them about Milestone.

Until next week,

Matthew Anderson, President
Milestone Marketing Associates, Inc.
