Birthday Gifts
I am writing this week’s update on Sunday, as I normally do, and this Sunday, January 10, 2016 happens to by my 43rd birthday. I was just looking at my Facebook page, and happy birthday posts are coming in fast and furious. Later today we’re celebrating with family and friends at Livingston’s Amusement Center for some “old school” birthday fun with arcade games, go carts, and pool. I’m feeling fortunate.

Now that I’m in my forties birthdays seem to come and go without too much hoopla. Birthday gifts are always appreciated, but spending time with family and friends is more gratifying. Thank you to everyone for making my birthday special.
I did open one special birthday gift this morning. I’ve never played an instrument in my life, but I’ve always wanted to learn how to play the guitar. My wife was kind enough to indulge my fantasy so now I’m the proud owner of an acoustic guitar. I downloaded a bunch of free guitar lessons through GarageBand. Now I just need to start practicing, and with any luck, maybe I’ll be able to play a tune by the time I’m 44.
Until next week,
