Doug Cherry Week

Posted by: on Sunday, January 17, 2016

It’s been a while since I’ve written about upcoming events, and this week’s update is special because both programs involve my friend, Doug Cherry. An intellectual property lawyer and partner at Shumaker, Loop, and Kendrick, Mr. Cherry is well known on the local speaking circuit. Doug has spoken at STF and AdFed events in the past, and since he’s presenting new programs for both groups, I’m officially dubbing this Doug Cherry Week.

My daughter saw this picture as I was writing this post and said Doug looks like Nicholas Cage.
I also happen to know Doug is a movie buff so I’m sure he’ll get a kick out of that one!

Suncoast Technology Forum Techbyte Luncheon
Tuesday, January 19, 2016 - 11:30am to 1:00pm
Polo Grill and Bar - Florida Room

On Tuesday fellow partner, Scott La Porta, will join Doug to represent Shumaker, Loop and Kendrick’s Data Breach Team. Their presentation is titled, “You had a data breach. Now what? Practical steps to mitigate the consequences and protect your business.” Join the local technology community to learn more about this sobering subject.

There is still time to register online. The cost, including lunch, is $18 for members and $28 for non-members.

AdFed Suncoast AdNites
Thursday, January 21, 2016 - 5:30pm to 7:00pm
Herald-Tribune Media Group - Community Room

Join the local creative community on Thursday for an evening of IP and IPA’s. Doug is a legal expert when it comes to intellectual property. He also happens to be a beer aficionado so he teamed up with JDUB’S to present a refreshing new program that features the latest legal issues relating to social media marketing combined with locally crafted brews.

Be sure to register online for this satisfying program that will include pizza with the beer tasting. Tickets for AdFed members are only $15 and non-members get in for $22.

Until next week,

Matthew Anderson, President
Milestone Marketing Associates, Inc.

Great topic and very important! I am sending this information to the local chapter of FPRA for possible speaking engagement.

Gosh! Thank you for posting this Matthew. Heaven help the people of Sarasota if it ever were to be Doug Cherry week. Oh, and I get the Nicolas Cage thing every once and a while. Unfortunately, this occurs mostly after he plays a nutcase in a movie (which is more often than not), rather than the romantic lead.
