Fist of all, can I get a shout out for the great weather? After the crazy winter we had it’s been such a pleasure to have the windows open and enjoy “springtime” in Sarasota.
One Giant Leap
Happy Leap Day! On this last day of February, I’m pleased to report several small steps and one giant leap for Milestone. Over the last few weeks we started and launched multiple website projects, and at the beginning of February we began working with a new retainer account.
Interesting Diversity
One of the most interesting things about this business is the diversity of businesses we learn about along the way. Just last week I met with a referral from an existing client.
The referring business and the business they referred are worlds apart in terms of the type of business, their products, and the markets they serve. The business owners just happen to be personal friends, and our client was talking about his experience working with Milestone.
Presidents Day
Whether you’re a traditionalist, preferring to celebrate Washington’s Birthday on February 22, or you like the modern interpretation of the national holiday that honors all U.S. presidents – past and present – you have to admit the eyes of the country – and the world – are more focused on our next president.
Brisk Start
Milestone is off to a brisk start this year. As we slowly work through the process of surveying all of our current clients, we’re discovering most of them are not only busy as usual, but they’re also gearing up their businesses in anticipation of significant growth in 2016. Perhaps it has something to do with being a presidential election year. It could be business owners are subconsciously bracing for the next economic downturn and making hay while the sun shines. Or it just might be the clients we’ve spoken to so far are doing well and looking forward to a good year.
Early Learning Coalition
Last year I joined the board of directors of the Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County. ELCs are nonprofit organizations that administer federal, state, and local funds to support early education programs for preschool age children. Our mission is to provide access to the highest quality early education resources and family support to ensure that children are ready for learning and ready for life.
